Fair Trade Organic Coffee

Fair Trade certification means that the coffee is free of genetically modified organisms (GMOs), preserving the use of natural coffee beans. Fair Trade also means that farmers are paid a fair wage helping to lift them out of poverty and provide for their families. Fair Trade enables producers to invest in the farms, communities and also promotes protection of the environment. Fair Trade certified coffee is coffee that is sold under a program by the same name. The Fair Trade label means that farmers and farm workers in developing nations receive a fair price for a pound of coffee, work directly with buyers, and prioritize sustainable farming methods without forced child labor and the use of a dozen of the most harmful pesticides. This fair price allows farmers to develop their communities by paying laborers a fair wage and still have enough left over to invest in their business and community. At ARCO we see selling fair trade products as a way to show our commitment to helping the farmers we work with develop long-term sustainable communities and businesses.
Organic certified coffee is coffee that is grown under strict rules governing pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers. When a flavor is applied to an organic coffee that flavor must also meet the guidelines of organic products in order for the end product to be called organic.
